How Skin Care Oils Support Your Natural Beauty

How Skin Care Oils Support Your Natural Beauty

Society puts a lot of pressure on us to be ‘perfect.’ Perfect lifestyle, perfect body, and perfect skin. But the truth is that this version of ‘perfect’ beauty is static. We are all impacted by time, environmental factors, diet, and everything else that life throws at us. Our skin is living tissue that responds to our stimuli. The more quickly we accept that our skin is not frozen in time, the happier we will be.

Your natural skin deserves to be seen and allowed to “breathe,” regardless of breakouts, freckles, hyperpigmentation, scarring, and anything else that triggers feelings of insecurity. You deserve to feel safe and secure in your own skin without feeling pressured to hide it.

So how can you become more confident in your skin? By using natural, organic skincare oils that enhance and help your skin, rather than attempting to cover or hide it.

Take Pride in Your Skin

Your skin is one of the first things people see about you. It’s understandable to want flawless, marble skin that leaves a great first impression. However, all of this pressure leads to stress, which causes more breakouts!

When you realize that society actually doesn’t have a hold on who you are, you can become more confident simply by being your most authentic self. We as human beings have scars, stretch marks, acne, dark under-eye bags, etc., BECAUSE we are human beings. Looking like a human is normal, and you don’t have to be ashamed of your natural skin’s texture, skin tone, or appearance. Still, we all have skin issues to deal with at some point, whether small or large. Luckily, there’s a simple and effective way to care for your skin.

You will find that it’s very healing to use skincare oils derived from nature. Before you apply them to your face, take a moment to connect with the power and beauty of the trees or flowers that produced these oils. Some natural skincare oils have been used by ancient cultures for hundreds of years, and there’s a good reason for that!

Plus, you can save yourself a ton of time in the morning by skipping the 20-step makeup routine. Instead, a few drops of your favorite skincare oil can help give your skin a healthy glow and tackle any issues as necessary.

What are Skincare Oils?

Skincare oils are naturally-derived oils from plants that contain a powerful punch of nutrients. Most PURA D’OR skincare oils come in a bottle with a dropper, which makes them very easy to apply to your skin. It is always important to look for top-quality ingredients in the oils you apply to your face, and you can rest easy if they’re 100% pure, USDA Certified Organic!

What are the Benefits of Facial Oils?

Facial oils, also known as skincare oils, contain various naturally-occurring active ingredients and essential fatty acids that regenerate damaged skin cells. They also increase collagen production to leave your face looking plumper and firmer. Skincare oils create a natural-looking sheen to your skin and reduce the amount of noticeable hyperpigmentation.

And they’re cost-effective!

Did we mention that they can also help clear up acne? Sebum, the natural oil produced by the sebaceous glands (small glands that ‘lube up’ the skin), can clog pores and cause breakouts. If your skin is oily AND acne-prone, face oils are perfectly safe for you.

They may even help regulate sebum production as they contain linoleic fatty acids, which help to normalize the production of your natural oils. Sebum easily clogs pores, while facial oils are non-comedogenic, which means that they won’t clog your pores.

Many facial oils are a natural source of Vitamin C, an ingredient that lightens dark spots and reduces the appearance of scarring. Vitamin C also hinders acne-causing bacteria from manifesting and causing painful infections in your pores.

If you suffer from rosacea or inflammatory acne, facial oils may also offer some relief to you. Their plant-based anti-inflammatory properties calm redness and irritation from beneath the surface level of the skin, revitalizing its cells from the inside out.

There’s nothing better than feeling confident enough to walk out of the house foundation-free… but with so many skincare oils available, which ones will have your skin looking its best?

Argan Oil

Argan oil is native to Morocco and it’s derived from the kernels of the argan tree. It’s totally natural and has been tried and tested by Moroccan natives for thousands of years.

Argan oil is best known for its sun protection and skin elasticity benefits. In fact, one study showed that the native women of Morocco were wise to use argan oil to help protect themselves from the sun. Argan oil contains various antioxidants that shield the skin from low-level free radicals caused by UV rays, leading to fewer sunburns and less hyperpigmentation.

Argan oil is also a magnificent moisturizer. There is an abundance of Vitamin E in this oil, which is derived from the kernels of the argan tree. Argan oil helps to lock in hydration and leave your skin feeling soft and supple and looking its best.

Argan oil is easy to apply:  After cleansing your face, massage two to three drops of argan oil into the skin for a refreshed, refined look.

Argan oil is at the heart of PURA D’OR since it’s the first oil our brand was founded on. Even our name, PURA D’OR, comes from the nickname argan oil has earned through the centuries: Pure Gold!

Not only is PURA D’OR Argan Oil 100% USDA Organic, it’s also a triple aid to your skin, hair, and scalp. You can easily reduce the appearance of scarring and signs of aging with this nutrient-filled super oil. Rosehip Seed Oil

Rosehips are the buds of the rose plant. They are generally grown in warm climates, especially in Chile and other South American countries. Aside from smelling beautiful, rosehips actually have a ton of benefits for the skin. Rosehip seed oil is a natural toner that neutralizes the pH of your skin, which helps to regulate oil production.

Additionally, rosehip seed oil contains an array of essential fatty acids. These include Omegas 3, 6, and 9, which subdue breakouts and

reduce the appearance of aging. Rosehip seed oil contains a large amount of natural retinol (Vitamin A), which increases collagen production and stimulates the production of new blood capillaries underneath the surface of the skin.

Wait, there’s more! Rosehip oil is also chock-full of Vitamin C, an active skincare ingredient that lightens dark spots, reduces hyperpigmentation, and plumps the skin for a youthful, beautiful glow.

Rosehip seed oil can be used with or after your moisturizer. Make sure that your face has been thoroughly cleansed and add a few drops to your daily dose of moisturizer or warm the oil in the palms of your hands and massage it into the skin afterward to lock in the hydration.

You can also use rosehip seed oil on stretch marks to help lighten them or on your scalp to relieve dandruff and dryness. PURA D’OR offers high-quality, 100% Pure Organic Rosehip Seed Oil. It’s USDA Certified Organic, cold-pressed, and of top-notch quality. Cold-pressing keeps nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals intact, meaning that the oil is healthier.

Sweet Almond Oil

Raw almond and almond oil

Sweet almond oil is a popular carrier oil (check out our article on everything you need to know about carrier oils) to be used with essential oils. It also has some impressive benefits for the facial skin.

Don’t confuse sweet almond oil with regular almond oil, as they are made differently and have different purposes.

Purador Organic Sweet Almond Oil, Give your skin a treat

Sweet almond oil is an emollient, which means that it is great at regulating the water content in the skin. If you have dry skin, this face oil is a great option for you.

Additionally, sweet almond oil contains Vitamin A and other antibacterial nutrients, so it has acne-fighting benefits and also helps to even out the skin tone by lightening dark spots. But don’t scroll yet! This face oil is chock-full of Vitamin E, which helps to protect the skin from UV damage, and helps to boost collagen production, leaving your face looking smoother and feeling softer.

Sweet almond oil can be used as a makeup remover, even for stubborn waterproof mascara, and as a natural hair softener.

Depending on your skin type, you may want to adjust the way you use this oil. If you have oily skin, use it as your moisturizer. If you have dry skin, massage it into your skin after you moisturize.

Jojoba Seed Oil

Jojoba seeds in oil

Jojoba oil is made from the seeds of the jojoba shrub, which is native to deserts in North America. Native Americans in the Southern Californian region used this oil as a traditional medicine to calm psoriasis and eczema since it has healing anti-inflammatory properties. This oil is great for the hair, skin, and nails, as it strengthens keratinized bonds in the cartilage and skin.

Purador Jojoba Oil, benefits

This natural makeup remover gently lifts dirt, grime, and makeup from the skin without pulling out much-needed moisture. Jojoba holds water in the skin cells, giving you a plump, firm, and youthful feeling and appearance. It is common in anti-aging skincare products for this reason!

This product can replace your heavy moisturizer that causes more harm than good, especially for oily and normal to dry skin types. Very dry skin types may find that it is beneficial to use both!

You can even use jojoba oil to create an at-home remedy for sunken, dark, or puffy eye bags. Take two slices of organic cucumber and rub jojoba oil onto them. Kick back, relax, and place the slices over your eyes. Rest for 15 minutes and feel the difference.

PURA D’OR’s USDA Organic Jojoba Oil was created with your skin’s health in mind. Our minimally processed oil works side-by-side with the natural component of your skin. After all, we were designed to love our earth.

Tamanu Oil

Tamanu Tree, raw ball fruit

Tamanu oil is a lesser-known skincare oil from the tamanu tree, which is native to tropical areas of Asia and is traditionally used to reduce the appearance of scars, minor burns, and other slight irritations like minor dermatitis.

Tamanu oil is best recognized for its ability to readily increase the production of collagen and other skin-building materials, which in turn reduces scarring, dark spot, and fine line appearances. It’s also extremely anti-inflammatory due to its large content of essential fatty acids, leaving you with younger-looking skin.

 4oz Organic Tamanu Oil

Lastly, tamanu oil contains plenty of antioxidants that help to shield the microbiome (the surface of your skin) from free radicals and UV damage, but don’t forget your sunscreen! No face oil can completely protect your skin from the sun.

Tamanu oil is also an essential oil carrier that makes it possible to use potent essential oils topically. Add a drop of your favorite essential oil to one tablespoon of tamanu oil and rub wherever you need it.

For the face, warm the oil in the palms of your hands and rub it into the skin and neck.

PURA D’OR offers 100% pure, natural USDA Organic Tamanu Oil. This specialty oil is easily absorbed into the skin and won’t clog your pores.
